This text concerns the issue of sovereignty today according to the philosophy of Jacques Derrida. At first, the contours of sovereignty and its characteristics are presented from Derrida's reading. Then, a critique of sovereign power is made by adressing the themes of 'sovereignty crisis' and ‘rogue states’. This article presents a formulation of the problem of sovereignty based on Jacques Derrida's critique and contributes to studies on political philosophy and sovereignty.
