About the Journal
CAPES Qualis: A3
History:
Founded in 2010 and affiliated with Fundação Fênix, Revista Opinião Filosófica (ROF) was established with the mission of promoting philosophical research, strengthening scholarly communication, and expanding the dissemination of knowledge through open access. Its creation took place during a period marked by the expansion of Brazilian graduate education, the increasing internationalization of research, and the consolidation of digital scholarly publishing platforms, a context that fostered the emergence of new academic journals committed to high standards of scholarly publishing.
From its inception, ROF has embraced the publication of philosophical research with a strong interdisciplinary orientation, recognizing that the major challenges of the contemporary world require dialogue across different fields of knowledge. Accordingly, the journal has established itself as a venue for critical reflection that brings together philosophical tradition and contemporary debates, welcoming contributions that address both philosophical questions and the challenges of the contemporary world.
Throughout its history, Revista Opinião Filosófica has developed a strong editorial culture grounded in academic excellence, research integrity, and the continuous improvement of its editorial practices. The adoption of double-blind peer review, the refinement of its editorial policies, the implementation of digital identifiers, the assignment of DOIs to published articles, and its inclusion in leading national and international indexing services, directories, and repositories have strengthened the journal's credibility and expanded its international visibility.
Thematic Issues have become one of the journal's defining editorial features. By bringing together researchers around philosophical and interdisciplinary issues of contemporary relevance, they have fostered research networks, encouraged collaboration among institutions, and promoted dialogue across diverse philosophical traditions and fields of knowledge. This editorial policy has enabled the journal to keep pace with developments in both philosophy and society while maintaining its commitment to conceptual rigor and academic excellence.
