Author Guidelines

This section provides a summary of the Author Guidelines. The full instructions for preparing and submitting manuscripts are available on the Author Guidelines page. Authors are encouraged to read the Author Guidelines in full before submitting a manuscript.

Submission Preparation Checklist

1. Submissions must be made exclusively through the journal's online submission system, available at:

https://opiniaofilosofica.org/index.php/opiniaofilosofica/submission

2. The Title Page, duly completed, must be submitted separately at the time of submission. The document must contain, for each author, the full name, institutional affiliation, academic degree, ORCID, and contact email address, as well as declarations regarding conflicts of interest, the use of artificial intelligence, the existence of versions previously made available on preprint servers, and research materials associated with the manuscript.

3. The submitted manuscript is original and unpublished and is not under consideration by another journal.

4. Submitted manuscripts must address philosophical topics or topics from other fields examined from a philosophical perspective.

5. The submission file must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

6. Manuscripts may be written in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, or Italian.

7. Manuscripts may be submitted as articles or book reviews. Translation submissions are considered by the Editorial Team on a case-by-case basis, taking into account their scholarly and editorial relevance.

8. The manuscript must include a title, abstract, and keywords in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. If the manuscript is written in a language other than Portuguese, English, or Spanish, that language will replace Portuguese in the title, abstract, and keywords.

9. The abstract must contain between 250 and 300 words in each of the three languages required by the journal.

10. The manuscript must contain three to five keywords in each of the three languages required by the journal.

11. Manuscripts must comply with the following word limits, including the title, abstracts, keywords, footnotes, and references:

a) Articles: between 5,000 and 8,000 words;
b) Translations: between 5,000 and 8,000 words;
c) Book reviews: between 2,000 and 3,000 words.

12. All authors must have an active ORCID.

13. For manuscripts with more than one author, the Author Contributions Form, based on the CRediT taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), must be submitted at the time of submission.

14. Submissions must comply with the journal’s academic qualification requirements: authors holding doctoral or master's degrees, as well as master's and doctoral students, may submit manuscripts individually. For undergraduate students or graduates without a master's degree, co-authorship with a PhD holder is mandatory.

15. The manuscript must not contain any information that may identify the author(s).

16. Each author may publish only one contribution per volume. Co-authored contributions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
