This text highlights the way José Crisóstomo thought about Brazilian contemporary philosophy in order to change the perspective from the traditional and colonialist approach to a more autonomous, dynamic, and suggestive one. Taking this point of view, José Crisóstomo stablished another paradigm which is aligned to a poetic-pragmatic materialism as well as a foundationalism, representationalism and linguistic centrism way of proposing a new methodology to attacking points like the following ones: material, linguistic, creative, and inventive in a contextualized scenario. In other words, Crisóstomo’s project was the philosophy we live by, adjusted to a daily philosophy, based intersubjective-relational and holistic aspects.
