This article discusses the notion of aesthetic rationality based on Jayme Paviani's work, Aesthetic Rationality, the result of his doctoral thesis at PUC-RS, supervised by Prof. Dr. Urbano Zilles, articulating it with the contemporary and classical philosophical debate on reason, truth, and artistic creation. It examines the senses in which art can be considered rational, as well as the relationship between perception, imagination, emotion, and the unconscious in the process of constituting the work. Aesthetic rationality is analyzed as a dimension inherent to human experience, irreducible to both logical formalism and spontaneous irrationalism. The work of art emerges from a process that integrates sensibility and reflection, configuring an aesthetic logos that elaborates the world and makes it intelligible.
