Considering that the importance of stoicism for Western Philosophy, this article aims to analyze how Stoic ethical thinking can contribute to coping with human existential anxieties and the search for living well in the context of the 21st century world. The present study is developed through the analysis of reference works of Stoic philosophy, as well as scientific articles published in renowned journals. Therefore, at first, it made a brief historical overview about stoicism, with the objective of enabling the understanding of its context of emergence, development and main characteristics. Then, the present work addressed specific concepts of classic stoic ethics, seeking to understand the practical connotation of the thought under study. Finally, he analyzed how Stoic philosophy contributes to the confrontation of human existential anguish and to the search for living well in the contemporary world.
